Wurtele’s latest performance was spectacular as she led the women’s race at Rev3 Quassy for most of the day on the bike and run, only to be eventually caught by the sport’s top runner and course record holder at the Ironman Hawaii Mirinda Carfrae. Heather crossed the finish line 17 seconds behind the winner with a time of 4:27:59 and is showing great form for her focus mid-season race, Ironman Coeur D’Alene June 23rd. Team Wurtele, which includes her husband Trevor, posted a first and second place finish at Ironman New Orleans 70.3 earlier this season.
